Johan qualified from University of Free State in 1977.
After 2 years military service where he attained the rank of Captain, he worked back his bursary at the Dept. of Community Development and in 1980 he joined the firm Richter Wilsench & Bloem in Pretoria.
In 1982 he established the firm Horne Glasson Duvenhage & Chrystal in Richards Bay.
From 1986 – 2014 he practised as Johan Duvenhage Architect and during 2015 he founded the firm Johan Duvenhage & Associates in Salt Rock, KZN North Coast.
During his professional career he has been involved in the following types of projects:
Residential developments, Lodges and Hotels, Religious buildings, Clinics and Hospitals, Industrial Projects, Parastatal projects, Shopping Centers and Office developments.
Johan is married and the couple has a daughter and 2 grandchildren.
