PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Oman Sugar Refinery consisted of 3 main buildings:

1. Administration/ Welcoming Building

2. Mosque

3. Clinic

The Administration Building was to be as economical as possible due to weather (hot climate), therefore we designed the building with a double skin of polyurethane, which acts as a cooling Trombe wall, encasing the entire building.

The Mosque is typically designed to face toward Mecca, and is proposed to be perforated to always allow in natural light. The administration building is connected to the Mosque with a water funnel that runs through both the buildings.
